john digiacomo started out in the music business as a recording artist. from the age of 15, he’s been in studios recording his own songs. while in the studio, he was always standing over the engineers shoulders or seated next to them watching and asking questions about how the software worked and what they were doing. when he was in his mid 20’s he decided to start a home studio and start recording himself and friends. not long after, he decided that there was only so much he could do on his own and decided to go to audio school. after his graduation, he worked as an apprentice at crystal clear studios in philadelphia, under the guidance of musician and engineer joey heir. five months later, he heard about msound recording studios and they had an opening in their b room. john jumped at the opportunity to work on his own and established his own clientele. for about 2 years he continued to study his craft and build relationships with artists and other engineers including other msound owners kevin and domenic. the opportunity came, when former owner shawn leahy relocated to california and john was asked to become a partner at msound. he jumped at the opportunity and in august 2013, john joined kevin and domenic as a partner at msound. john handles mostly the hip hop and r&b sessions in the a room, but does work with some rock and also teaches for the very school he graduated from, the recording, radio and film connection. john has worked with some of the biggest underground hip hop artists in philly and is currently involved in dozens of full length albums as either engineer or producer. he also has a character as a producer in the hip hop video game rap rivals available on iTunes.
